Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner names former Fort Myers mayoral candidate Jacquelyn D. McMiller to Community Service Coordinator position
FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 25, 2021) – Community leader and former Fort Myers mayoral candidate Jacquelyn D. McMiller has joined Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner, Attorneys for the Injured, as the law firm’s community service coordinator.
The law firm, a family-owned, family-focused team of personal injury attorneys, has a long history of community engagement. Cheryl Scheiner, Bruce Scheiner’s wife and firm administrator, founded the firm’s Make a Difference Award nearly two decades ago – and since that time the firm has provided tens of thousands of dollars of financial assistance to local middle and high school students in recognition of their community service work in the Southwest Florida community.
In furtherance of their effort to give back to the community they serve, the firm is proud to announce their partnership with McMiller, a life-long resident of Fort Myers with twenty-five years of public service experience. Consistent with her career of public service and her commitment to the Fort Myers community, McMiller ran for Mayor of the City of Fort Myers in 2020 and became the first African-American woman in Fort Myers’ history to advance to a November runoff in the mayoral election.
McMiller will play a pivotal role in community outreach, service, and support within the Fort Myers and Lee County area. Much like the Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner family, McMiller has dedicated her personal and professional life to helping those in need. She has been recognized by the 20th Judicial Circuit as an expert in her field of Child Safety Methodology. Her years of commitment to the community have built a foundation for McMiller to continue to be a force for positive change in our community. After all, McMiller has always strove to be a voice for those whose lives have been turned upside down, helping the less fortunate to reach the light at the end of what can – for many – be a long and dark tunnel.
“We are excited to welcome Jacquelyn into the Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner family,” said attorney Bruce L. Scheiner. “Her commitment to making our community a better place is central to the mission of our firm – and we feel fortunate to have the ability to support her community service efforts.”
McMiller says she is honored to join the Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner team. “This partnership offers an opportunity to specifically focus on what is near and dear to my heart, the success of the Fort Myers community,” said McMiller. “I will be able to concentrate full-time on giving back to a community that has given so much to me and the many other young men and women who desire to work tirelessly to uplift a society in need of progressive change, opportunity, and hope.”

Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner, Attorneys for the Injured, was founded in 1971 by Bruce L. Scheiner and his wife, Cheryl Scheiner. Both continue to work alongside their son, P.J. Scheiner, who joined the firm as a trial attorney in 2007.
Today, Bruce and P.J. work in the negotiating room and the courtroom, where they fight to secure full and fair restitution for each and every client they have the privilege of representing. Bruce Scheiner still hand selects each case the firm accepts, personally assembles the team best able to see the case through to settlement or trial, and oversees every case from intake to resolution.
Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner, Attorneys for the Injured, has the knowledge, experience, and resources to handle all types of personal injury and wrongful death claims for clients across the state of Florida, including trucking accidents, boating accidents, airplane accidents, nursing home neglect and abuse, construction accidents, defective product claims, premise liability claims and injuries to children.
