A Personal Message From Bruce L. Scheiner

Growing up the son of a New York City firefighter, I saw, every night at the dinner table, what drives the greatness of our country. He was a strong man with ash-stained skin and hands calloused by his life-saving work. He was not a man of great fame or great fortune, but someone whose hard work fed his family and made his community stronger.

Every morning, right here in Florida, millions of hard-working Americans show up to work five minutes early, just like my father did. They work hard, they take pride in what they do, and they get the job done right. They may not ever strike it rich, money-wise, but their life is fuller than money alone could ever make it.

Unfortunately, sometimes intangible wealth isn’t enough. Even though we live in the greatest country in the world, where equality and opportunity abound, there are just times when it seems as if the only way out is through the purchasing power of a fat bank account. Something my father, and millions of other hard working Americans, just never had the luxury of having.

What is to come of the mechanic who can no longer use his hand because of injuries caused by a defective product? The roofer who can’t bend over because of a back that was injured in a car accident by a careless driver? Or the waitress who can’t work the three shifts she needs to support herself and her family because of neck and shoulder injuries caused by a drunk driver? Stripped not only of their ability to do an honest day’s work, the very work which made them a supporter of their family and a contributor to their community, but also of the income which paid their monthly bills, the only answer used to come with a couple-hundred dollar retainer fee at the local attorney’s office; a fee that the injured victim could ill afford. Certainly that can’t be the American way?

Since opening my law practice in 1971, driven by the image of my father at the dinner table after a long day of work, I have dedicated my career to giving people whose lives have been turned upside-down by a serious injury another way out.

That is why, at Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner, Attorneys for the Injured, we take your case with an iron-clad guarantee: You pay us nothing unless we win. I take the highest pride in standing by injured Americans in their darkest hour, and fighting to right the wrongs which have been perpetrated. After all, where else in the world can a block-layer sue big business and be on equal footing?
