SELECTED 2008 RESULTS

    $1 Million: Recovered in May for the parents of an 18-year-old man who was killed in a motorcycle accident when his motorcycle collided with a bulldozer that had pulled into the roadway in Charlotte County.

   $5 Million: Recovered in May for a  man who sustained serious injuries after he was struck by a truck while riding his motorcycle in Cape Coral.

   $1.35 million: Recovered in March for client who was killed after pulling to the side of the Interstate with a flat tire and being struck by a passing dump truck.

   $5.2 Million: Recovered in January for a 49-year-old client who was seriously injured after being struck by a car while riding a motorcycle in Bonita Springs.

SELECTED DECEMBER 2008 CASE RESULTS

$310,000: Recovered in December 2008 for a 63-year-old Georgia woman who was hit by a drunk driver on Airport Pulling Road in Naples. Client suffered neck, shoulder and hip injuries.

$260,000: Recovered in December 2008 for a 56-year-old Cape Coral man who was injured on the job when his work truck became involved  in a chain-reaction rear-end collision on Pine Ridge Road. Client suffered several ruptured discs in his neck.

$162,500: Recovered in December 2008 for a 46-year-old Fort Myers woman who suffered work-related injuries in a worker’s compensation case while transporting someone in a wheelchair. Client reported that driver did not have the wheelchair passenger properly secured and client injured her back and arm attempting to restrain wheelchair.

$105,000: Recovered in December 2008 for a 72-year-old North Port man who required knee surgery after a car accident entering Harbor Cove. The vehicle he was riding in struck a commercial mower than pulled in front of it, causing the vehicle to drive partly over the mower and slam back to the ground.


    
$100,000: Recovered in December 2008 for a 51-year-old Tennessee woman who was walking her dogs along Lafayette Avenue in Sebring when she was struck by a vehicle. Client suffered a fractured back and other injuries. Both dogs were killed.

$85,000: Recovered in December 2008 for a 79-year-old Cape Coral man who was struck by a vehicle that turned left in front of him on Pondella Road. Client suffered, shoulder, neck and back injuries in the car accident.

$75,000: Recovered in December 2008 for a 34-year-old Fort Myers woman who was hit by an accused drunk driver who ran a stop sign on McGregor Boulevard. Client suffered injuries to her hand and knee in the drunk driving accident.

$65,000: Recovered in December 2008 for a 36-year-old Iowa man who was injured in a motorcycle accident when his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle from behind while traveling on Immokalee Road. Client and his motorcycle passenger were thrown more than 25 feet and suffered numerous injuries, including road rash, bruising and fractures.

$300,000: Recovered in November 2008 for a 62-year-old Cape Coral man who was struck full speed in the driver’s door by a vehicle that ran a red light at a DelPrado Boulevard intersection, causing the car accident. Client suffered numerous injuries to his chest and face.


$250,000: Recovered in November 2008 for a 48-year-old Arcadia man who was northbound on Route 17 in DeSoto County when a vehicle turned in front of him. Client suffered numerous injuries including a fractured pelvis that required surgery as a result of the car accident.

$250,000: Recovered in November 2008 for a 75-year-old Fort Myers man injured in a car accident. Client was southbound on U.S. 41 turning into Jamaica Bay on a green light when at-fault vehicle ran red light and hit client.        

$215,000: Recovered in November 2008 for a 57-year-old Cape Coral woman seriously injured after being rear-ended in a chain-reaction collision on U.S. 41 at Sunrise. Client’s injuries required a body brace and the use of a walker.

$198,000: Recovered in November 2008 for a 58-year-old Fort Myers man who required surgery after a car accident. Client collided with a commercial trailer that turned in front of him on Six-Mile Cypress in Fort Myers.

$190,000: Recovered in November 2008 for a 65-year-old Naples man who was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in the bike lane along Gulfshore Boulevard. Client suffered three broken ribs, as well as injuries to his neck, back and knee.

$125,000: Recovered in November 2008 for a 78-year-old Lake Placid man who required shoulder surgery after being hit by a car in a parking lot.

$100,000: Recovered in November 2008 for the mother of a 23-year-old man who was killed on his motorcycle less than a year earlier after a vehicle he was attempting to pass turned into him on Gasparilla Road in Boca Grande.

$79,000: Recovered in November 2008 on behalf of a client involved in a car accident on Old 41 in North Fort Myers after a vehicle pulled in front of her as it was exiting a grocery store plaza.

$325,000: Recovered in October 2008 on behalf of a 70-year-old client who suffered serious facial injuries when passing pedestrians were directed into her path by an usher at a local arena. Client was forced to let go of the railing and fell on the concrete steps.

$299,209: Recovered in October 2008 for a 45-year-old Fort Myers woman who was seriously injured after being rear-ended at the intersection of Summerlin and Colonial Boulevard.

$295,000: Recovered in October 2008 for a 32-year-old Ohio man who suffered a fractured skull and other injuries after his motorcycle was struck by a rental car on U.S. 41 near Toledo Blade Boulevard.

$200,000: Recovered in October 2008 for a 49-year-old Bonita Springs man who broke his ankle and suffered road rash and other injuries after laying down his motorcycle on the roadway in an attempt to avoid a truck that ran a stop sign.

$50,000: Recovered in October 2008 for an 84-year-old woman who fractured her hip and pelvis after falling on a floor map at the entrance to Sam’s Club that was meant for the comfort of a door-greeter who was not present.


$42,500: Recovered in October 2008 for a 52-year-old Punta Gorda woman who broke her leg after falling in the grassy median of a Wal-Mart parking lot because of a hole in the ground.

$400,000: Recovered in September 2008 on behalf of a 49-year-old Englewood man who was rear-ended by a drunk driver.

$200,000: Recovered in September 2008 on behalf of a North Fort Myers woman who broke her leg and suffered serious knee injuries when she tripped and fell on an uneven sidewalk while coming out of a movie theater with her granddaughter.

$115,000: Recovered in September 2008 for a 44-year-old Port Charlotte client whose vehicle rolled several times and landed in the median after being struck by a drunk driver who pulled out in front of her.

$105,000: Recovered in September 2008 on behalf of a 44-year-old Lehigh Acres man who was struck by a school bus while riding his motorcycle after the school bus failed to yield at a stop sign.

$100,000: Recovered in September 2008 for a 28-year-old Milwaukee woman who was the victim of a DUI crash. Client passed erratic driver on U.S. 41 and was stopped at Corkscrew Road when the driver slammed into her at 30 to 35 mph.

$79,500: Recovered in September 2008 from three insurance companies after 17-year-old Kentucky teenager was injured when a van he was riding in with a group of people struck a vehicle on Corkscrew Road that pulled out in front of them in heavy rain.

$75,000: Recovered in September 2008 for a 71-year-old Nocatee, Florida man who was struck by a vehicle while mowing along the shoulder of a roadway.

$75,000: Recovered for a 29-year-old Cape Coral woman in September 2008. Client was rear-ended while stopped on U.S. 41 at Pine Island Road. At-fault driver was charged with DUI.

$60,000: Collected in September 2008 on behalf of North Fort Myers client who was injured after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle that pulled out in front of him on Hancock Bridge Parkway.

   

SELECTED AUGUST 2008 RESULTS

$210,000: recovered for a 49-year-old Cape Coral man in August 2008. Client suffered neck, back and knee injury after being broadsided as he turned onto Cape Coral Boulevard from Veterans Parkway in Cape Coral.

    $110,000: Recovered on behalf of a 52-year-old Sebring woman in August 2008 after she was rear-ended on State Road 98 while slowing  to make a turn.

$200,000: Recovered in August 2008 for a 53-year-old Naples woman who was backed into by a newspaper delivery vehicle while walking with her husband.

    $301,250: Recovered in August 2008  for a 56-year-old Naples woman who was rear-ended by a commercial vehicle while stopped at a light on Golden Gate Parkway. The force of the impact pushed her vehicle into the car in front of her. The driver of the commercial vehicle was charged with Driving Under the Influence.

     $200,000: Recovered in August 2008 for a 34-year-old North Carolina man who was injured after his vehicle was struck by a dump truck on U.S. 41 in Estero.

    $83,414.18: Recovered in August 2008 for a 43-year-old Naples woman who broke her ankle and suffered other injury after falling on a portion of theater stairs that had no handrail.

    $80,000: Recovered in August 2008 for an 85-year-old Cape Coral woman who suffered a serious knee injury on an airport bus after she was thrown to a pole and onto the floor when the driver slammed on the brakes.

     $80,000: Recovered in August 2008 on behalf of 61-year-old client who was riding his Honda motorcycle northbound on Cleveland Avenue approaching the Caloosahatchee River. At-fault vehicle swerved right to avoid going over the bridge. Client was forced right and wrecked his motorcycle, causing broken ribs, significant road rash and other injuries.

     $68,000: Recovered in August 2008 for 41-year-old client who was injured after being broadsided at the intersection of Savona Parkway and SW18th Street in Cape Coral.

SELECTED JULY 2008 RESULTS

   $200,000: Collected from two insurance companies in July 2008 for a 54-year-old Punta Gorda man who injured his right leg, back and neck after laying his motorcycle down on King's Highway in an attempt to avoid a 2003 Mustang that ran a stop sign.

   $75,000: Recovered in July 2008 for a mother who suffered a shoulder injury after a commercial truck backed into her car in Cape Coral while she was driving with her two small children, who were unhurt.

   $92,500: Recovered in July 2008 for 64-year-old client, including $17,500 paid by the client's own insurance company, after client was rear-ended while at a traffic stop on U.S. 41 in Fort Myers, causing injuries to the client's back and right leg.

   $80,000: Recovered in July 2008 for a 53-year-old client after being struck by a vehicle that ran a red light on Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers.

   $150,000: Recovered in January 2008 for client whose vehicle was struck by a rental car making a U-turn in Cape Coral.

   $150,000: Recovered in January 2008 for a woman who was raped by a man who broke into her rental home. Client contended she had complained to landlord about inadequate locks prior to being victimized.
